Don’t you think the world would be a better place if people did not take what did not belong to them? I have to admit, there was a time in my life that I was so self-centered my own happiness superseded everything else. If I saw something I took it. I know that is shameful behavior.

I now think the world would be such a better place if there was no theft. I know this is a Utopian ideal that cannot be achieved, nevertheless, the belief is there. As reported in www.cnbc.com.

Just how bad is the theft of trade secrets in America?

Did you know that one in four U.S. businesses are vulnerable to having their trade secrets stolen?, who said the ongoing threat could cost the U.S. economy "billions rather than millions".

This is a huge figure considering the size of the U.S. economy and considering the level of innovation in the US. This is not a millions game but a billions game.

There has been a rise of misappropriation of trade secrets which is a real and growing concern. China needs to step up its enforcement of the protection of trade secrets. There need more action both on the civil and the criminal side to ensure this issue is addressed properly.

I am uncertain stop theft classes would make a difference with respect to cyber-theft, but they sure could do no harm.
