I have always said that it is a rare circumstance when someone shoplifts out of necessity. The fact that more than 90% of shoplifting is for non-essential items proves that point.

It is not every day that a person who gets caught shoplifting has members of the public reach out and try and support her. But that is exactly what happened to Jessica Robles in South Florida. As reported in www.cbs12.com.

The struggling mother was stopped by a police officer for shoplifting and is now receiving help from the public, less than one day after her story made national headlines.

Robles reports that she decided to shoplift $300 worth of groceries at a Publix grocery store out of desperation. She found herself in that situation upon realizing she had no money left for groceries to feed her three kids.

Robles was stopped by Miami-Dade Police, but instead of taking her into custody, The officer ran her criminal history and found nothing major, so she charged her with a misdemeanor and a notice to appear in court.

Even more incredible is that the officer went the extra mile and purchased $100 worth of groceries for Robles and her three children.

A viewer offered to take Robles shopping at Walmart with $700 to spend.

One viewer interviewed and offered Robles for a potential job with PhoneDoctor.com, a Miami company that installs business phone lines.

It is not often that a shoplifting story ends on such a positive note but thanks to many Good Samaritans, Robles said, her children will never have to go hungry again. Do you think Robles still needs a good anti - stealing course?
