There is a general belief in society that you get wiser with age. This certainly is true in many cases. This is not true in the following story of a 60-year-old granny that continues to find herself on the wrong side of the law due to theft behavior.

A 60-year-old grandmother pleaded guilty to taking part in a family plot to steal nearly $4 million in a long series of larcenies, including a staged armored car hijacking in Portland six years ago. This as reported in oregonlive.com.

The 60-year-old, Marian Cabello admitted that she played roles in three major thefts/

The first occurred in 1995 when she drove her car to meet her husband, armored car driver Archie Cabello, on his route in Milwaukee, Wis., and allowed him to throw her a bag full of $157,839 before he pretended to be robbed.

Wanting to keep the aberrant theft behavior in the family, in 1998, also in Milwaukee, she helped hide more than $700,000 that her husband and their son, Vincent N. Cabello, took in the staged robbery of a vault at American Security Corp., where Vincent worked as a shipping and receiving clerk. Hiring these folks is an expensive act.

Not satisfied with their haul yet, in 2005, after the Cabello family moved to Portland to be nearer to the stolen cash they had put in a Bellevue, Wash., safe deposit box, she conspired with her husband and son to hide money from another staged armored car heist. This time, her husband, again working as a driver, off-loaded $3 million into Vincent Cabello's hands and then handcuffed himself to the wheel. Maybe cameras on all armored vehicles should become the norm – like police cars.

Vincent Cabello admitted his role to FBI agents where to find nearly $2 million in the safe deposit box in Bellevue. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges involving bank larceny and money laundering.

Marian Cabello is expected to receive an 18-month prison term for her role in the crimes.

The family seems to be splintering as she and her son both are testifying against Archie – who of course maintains his complete innocence in the whole thing.

Despicable family who may have benefited from Oregon theft classes in their past. Then again, maybe they wouldn’t.
