Let it be said that shoplifters are not the sharpest tools in the shed. In fact, many shoplifters’ intelligence can be questioned without further evidence.

As a counselor for educational theft/shoplifting classes, I discuss weird shoplifting stories with my students all the time. Keep in mind that all of my students attend class because a theft-related incident. Most of them even agree that shoplifting in general is a dumb thing to do. As reported in www.dailystar.co.uk.

Here is a tale of one of the dumbest shoplifters in history. Let’s preface this story by saying it did not occur here in the good, old USA, but across the pond in England.

In the theft, A woman put on a fake moustache, fake nose and a pair of sunglasses in a ridiculous attempt to avoid being noticed while shoplifting. And she seems to have got away with it - for now at least.

The woman was in a Salisbury Boots store when she donned the get up to nick a bottle of Chanel perfume. She was caught by store security wearing her fool-proof disguise, and police are now looking for the suspect. The perfume stolen was valued at about $120 US dollars.

I hope once caught this thief is mandated to a good stop theft class. I would say she should be publicly ridiculed, but once caught and the footage from the closed-circuit security cameras are shown, her act will be ridicule enough.
