There is no doubt that drugs make people do stupid things. Heck, marijuana is referred to as “dope” for that very reason. Addicts will do very stupid things in order to get their fix. Here is a case in point. This is not an uncommon event anywhere in the world. An English woman, Lisa Ramona McDonagh, altered a doctor’s prescription to obtain drugs and also stole goods from stores. The judge in the case did not let her off easily sentencing her to 8 months in prison.

The 32-year-old has a history of forgery and theft. Last year she stole $75 worth of toiletries and was caught when police found her location from the cab driver who gave her a lift home from the store. When police arrived they found her hiding in a wardrobe in a bedroom underneath clothes and a coat. McDonagh also had been arrested for stealing $50 worth of groceries from a local market. As reported in ulsterherald.com.

With her long history of theft, including the theft of booze, as well as a couple of convictions for prescription fraud, it is obvious McDonagh needs help. Of course, like many thieves and addicts, she blames others. In her case it is the “negative influence of the male presence in her life.

Hopefully a good stint in the pokey will wake her up to take responsibility for her life. Hopefully she will receive counseling for her addictions and an online theft/shoplifting class so she can return to society and be a positive force rather than a bane.
