The cases of law enforcement officials stealing have become prevalent in the past few months. I have blogged about a number of police officers and others abusing their power and stealing. The case again David Graham is yet another.
Once named “Deputy of the Year,” in Leon County Florida, the 45-year-old Graham was fired from the sheriff’s office in February after being arrested for grand theft of a firearm and grand theft. Investigation showed he stole an antique gun and $9,000 from an elderly man.
Since then the investigation revealed Graham also stole at least $53,000 in cash and gold and silver coins and jewelry worth more than $300,000 from the same elderly gentleman.
Graham even went as far as to drive the octogenarian to the bank and convince him to withdraw $63,000 cash, all in $100 dollar bills.

Additionally, Graham made several large purchases, which were paid for with $100 dollar bills. In addition to this, they say Graham also deposited at least $8,000 into his own personal bank account. They say the deposit was made exclusively with $100 dollar bills.
Graham also drove the elderly gentleman’s daughter to her bank to take inventory of her safety deposit box, according to investigators. Graham then sold the coins or jewelry to second-hand dealers that same day or the following day.
More Shameful Behavior
Graham, a very bad boy, also is being charged with insurance fraud. A search of Graham’s residence found a tractor and a four wheeler that Graham had reported as stolen. Both the tractor and the trailer were purchased by Graham, reported stolen paid for by the insurance company and then recovered in his yard.
Graham faces seven counts of grand theft, seven counts of dealing stolen property, four counts of defrauding a pawn broker insurance fraud and making a false report of a crime.
Graham’s wife Vickie was also an accomplice.
Hopefully, some time behind bars, a theft class and restitution paid to the victim’s will help cleanse Graham’s soul and lead him back to the path of light!
