Have you ever heard the term “grazer?” It applies to many things. However, with respect to shoplifting, grazing is eating while in the store and not paying for the item “grazed.”

Two Wisconsin women arrested for shoplifting at a department store on New Year's Eve were eating candy taken from the store while they were putting items into a large purse. As reported in host.madison.com.

They were leaving the store with $338 worth of merchandise in the purse, as well as partially consumed candy taken during the theft.

Both thieves were in their 20s and may have been high on drugs at the time of their arrest outside of a Kohl’s department store. Taniya Johnson, 22, and Velda Richmond, 27, both of Madison, were charged with retail theft.

Johnson has run afoul of the law before. In addition to the retail theft charges she also was charged with trespassing and bail jumping.

This was Johnson's sixth arrest for shoplifting since July 2008. She's scheduled to appear in court on Monday for her fifth arrest, which took place in September, 2012.

Boy do these two need a Wisconsin shoplifting class. At 22 with 6 arrests under her belt I would also suggest some heavy counseling for Johnson.
