Is there anything worth stealing that you would risk your life for? Of course Hollywood portrays glamorous thefts where big-name actors play leading roles.

One of the most popular recently was Ocean’s 11, a Las Vegas heist starring such A-List celebrities as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Any Garcia, Elliot Gould, Scott Caan, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck and Carl Reiner. As reported in usnews.nbcnews.com.

In that film characters risked their lives to steal millions of dollars. Real-life rarely reflects Hollywood. Most recently comes the tragic death of a Georgia man after he shoplifted from Wal-Mart. How sad is that?

What was this middle-aged man attempting to steal that wound up costing him his life? Would you believe two DVD players?

Store employees chased the thief out of the store around 1:30 in the morning. When police arrived they found store employees on top of the thief. Officers were surprised the thief did not put up any struggle once they attempted to place handcuffs on him. That is when they noticed he was bleeding from his nose and mouth and unconscious.

He never woke up. What a tragic story. I would like to think that had this guy never attempted to shoplift he might be leading a productive life somewhere. There is no word on whether or not he left behind a family.
