One of my favorite rock banks of all-time said, and continues to sing, “you can’t always get what you want.” Of course the band is The Rolling Stones, the singer is Mick Jagger and the song is “You Can’t Always get What You Want.”
While some shoplifters steal because they enjoy the rush of stealing and getting away with it and others steal out of need (although this is a very small percent of shoplifters), there are some who steal for want. They want the item. Whether they can afford it or not, they feel like they have to have it.
Self-control is essential in life. You have to be able to control yourself, regardless of the situation. It is good to want things. It is not healthy to feel that you should have everything you want.
If you are a person who has been spoiled and given most anything you ever have wanted, that is fine. Now is the time to realize you can’t always get what you want.
Don’t steal it. Practice not getting what you want and you will appreciate what you have, and what you receive in the future, all the more! Consider a theft class: stoptheftclass.com
