Every once in a while you hear a story that makes you stop and think, what the heck!” Following are two theft stories that made me do just that.
The first involves an airline pilot arrested for stealing a man’s rental car during a bizarre encounter. This is really weird. The pilot climbed into the back seat of the rental car, pointed a gun at the driver and ordered the driver out of the vehicle. After a scuffle in which the man struck the intruder several times with the handgun, West said the man got out and the intruder chased him around the car. As reported in www.washingtonpost.com.
The 43-year-old pilot from charter airline Omni Air was also arrested for driving under the influence.
The second incident involves the theft of lobsters to feed a drug habit.
A Pennsylvania man could spend up to 25 years in prison for stealing lobsters. The thief, 47-year-old Charles Shumanis III repeatedly stole lobsters. This wasn’t the first time Shumanis had pilfered the delicious red crustacean. Shumanis stole meat and lobsters on two other occasions before he was confronted when he walked out of the store with $350 in lobsters.
I hope both of these thieves are mandated to take a good 16 Hour theft class. The pilot may have some serious psychological issues going on and should also seek therapy.
