Just how does one steal from the president of the United States of America? What did they pick his pocket while he was meeting and greeting after winning re-election on November 6th? That would be impossible in this day and age when presidents are closely-guarded from the public.

Federal authorities arrested Eric Brown for stealing a truck filled with the President's equipment. Do you think stealing from the president is a serious offense? As reported in www.nbc12.com.

A judge would not throw out the stealing government property charge and denied bail.

So just what was this great theft? There is a typical setup to a presidential campaign stop, complete with seals, podiums, TelePrompTers and audio equipment.

The 48-year-old Brown was helped by his wife. Surveillance video from the Courtyard Marriott at Virginia Center Commons shows a vehicle owned by Brown's wife entering the parking lot and then leaving closely behind a Department of Defense truck carrying equipment needed for a presidential visit.

Brown then made the mistake of selling a Department of Defense laptop taken from the truck.

Do you think this was Brown’s first run-in with the law? Of course he was well-known with law enforcement with an extensive criminal history and was on probation when he stole the van.

Do you think his crime is any more serious because of what he stole and who he stole from? The government is sure proceeding like it is. I hope Brown and his wife are mandated to good stop theft classes and come to realize that stealing is not only legally wrong, but morally too.
