The stories of the odd-looking people and the numerous thieves who frequent Wal-Mart stores around the globe are abundant. Perhaps it is because of their low prices. Perhaps it is because it is the largest chain of retail stores in the world.

It's one thing to get caught stealing, but it is quite another to go "shopping" by loading up carts with merchandise and then ... just walking out of the store without paying for any of it.

A man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Robert Quinn, Jr., 47, was charged with a single count each of misdemeanor retail theft (intentionally concealing), contributing to the delinquency of a child, and bail jumping. He faces up to four years in prison and $30,000 in fines. This according to patch.com.

Larry Evans, 18, also of Milwaukee, faces a single misdemeanor count each of retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in jail and $20,000 in fines.

Quinn had been boasting to a 17-year-old about how easy it was to make money by stealing stuff from Wal-Mart and re-selling it.

Store security watched as Quinn loaded up a cart and then exited the store without paying for any of the merchandise. He loaded the booty into the trunk of a Jaguar parked in the lot.

Security also observed, on video and in person, as Evans and the juvenile came into the store and "shopped," loading carts with a variety of items and then walking out of the store without paying for anything. When the pair was confronted outside the store, they chucked the carts and took off for what turned out to be Quinn's Jaguar.

That is a couple of really nice characters. What they need is a good level 3 24-hour theft class and some peer counseling to keep them off the road to perdition.
