Have you ever seen the Hollywood blockbuster film “The Wedding Crashers” starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn? For me, it was a hilarious romp, one in which alcohol most certainly is not glorified. And as a counselor for an online alcohol class I appreciate that.
Additionally, while there some major deceit, there was no theft, and as a counselor for an online stop theft class, I appreciate that too. Here is a story about theft and wedding crashers. As reported in www.philly.com.
A man in Bridgeport, Connecticut who crashed a wedding and stealing thousands of dollars-worth of wedding gifts has been charged with theft from another reception. The thief is one Joseph Patrick Franzone Jr.
On June 22, the 35-year-old walked into a reception at the RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve and taken a wedding cake card box that contained about $9,000 in cash and checks given to the newlyweds as gifts. I hope this does not spawn copy cats.
Police did not make an arrest in that case until after a second wedding-party theft occurred July 7, when from $3,000 to $5,000 in gifts were stolen from a reception at the William Penn Inn.
After Franzone's photo appeared with news reports of the July arrest, a witness to the theft at RiverCrest identified him as the man he saw in the reception area. Franzone is a possible suspect in a third wedding-party theft.
I hope Franzone is mandated to a good stop theft class and devotes the rest of his life to staying clean.
