While a high-percentage of thefts are done on impulse, some do happen out of need. Some people steal to pay the rent, others to feed their kids. Often, when stealing out of need and desperation, the thefts are brazen and ridiculously stupid.

One such incident happened last week as reported by the Huffington Post in Salt Lake City, Utah where a  woman wore a fake mustache to disguise herself as a man while stealing. Was she robbing a convenience store in the next town over?  Nope. She was robbing from her neighbors.

The 31-year-old was charged with one count of theft and two counts of burglary. Her neighbors suspected her of the thefts and set a trap with security cameras and planted cash as bait. The cameras showed a woman wearing a very large men's suit, a beanie hat and a fake mustache.

Of course the victims recognized the woman as their neighbor, to whom they had given a key to their house.  Police later found the disguise in the woman's home.

The Lord said, “Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself.”  While not one of the Ten Commandments, found in Leviticus 19:18, it basically says to treat others as you want to be treated.  It certainly means you should not rob your neighbor!
