Nature has created many great combinations. Peanut butter and jelly, bread and butter, peas and carrots, apple pie and whipped all fit the bill. But now we have discovered the ultimate pairing – diapers and beer!

Two Massachusetts men desperate for the unbelievable combo made the mistake of calling a cab for their getaway car! This as reported in unionleader.com. The only other time I ever have heard of a diaper thief was of course the classic Coen Brothers movies “Raising Arizona” starring Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter. To Cage’s character’s credit, he had no money to buy the needed diapers and did not steal beer along with the nappies.

Cage also only stole a pack of diapers, these thieves took a huge quantity. The fact that they stole two cases of diapers, along with four cases of beer and a case of baby formula is all the more surprising since they had no vehicle!

What were they thinking?

The pair called a cab to pick them up in the Wal-Mart parking lot after the theft. The cab driver wisely took off, leaving them holding their booty with nowhere to go. After taking off in different directions, it still did not take officers long to corral these two diaper hustlers.

Shaun Klier, 29, was caught at a Hess gas station, while his 46-year-old partner-in-crime John Murphy was arrested in the parking lot of a gym.

Klier is charged with theft and a probation violation. Murphy thought he could lie his way out of it. He is charged with theft, false reports to law enforcement for allegedly lying to police about his identity and resisting arrest.

These two need a Massachusetts shoplifting class and most-likely a Massachusetts alcohol class.
