One of the weirder shoplifting stories involves a newlywed couple that show the need for stop theft classes
A big wedding can be quite the fanciful event. People dress up, there is music and plenty of good food. Unfortunately this Pennsylvania couple wanted a big wedding they could not afford. So what did they do? The stole it!
The couple is now behind bars after police say they were caught shoplifting food from a supermarket for their wedding reception.
According to USA Today, thirty-two-year-old Arthur Phillips III and his bride, 22-year-old Brittany Lurch, were arrested after taking more than $1,000 in merchandise from a supermarket in the town of State College.
They were easily caught - on surveillance footage loading a shopping cart and leaving the store without paying.
They admitted to officers that they had stolen the food, explaining that it was for their wedding reception. Phillips and Lurch are each charged with misdemeanor counts and are being held on $2 500 bail.
Nice way to start off their marriage. Do you think this is one of those stories that will be passed on for generations? I sure hope not.
I hope they take a Pennsylvania shoplifting class and become theft-free for the rest of their loves.
