For those of you who read this blog regularly, you know that nothing ticks me off more than someone stealing from the elderly or disables. People who steal from people that trusted them to handle their affairs sicken me. Larry Allan McCright makes me sick.
The 56-year-old man from Bend, Oregon was arrested on more than 100 theft, ID theft and fraud charges, accused of stealing over $180,000 from an 83-year-old Bend resident over the past six months. This according to ktvz.com.
McCright’s thefts involved using bank cards belonging to the victim without the victim’s permission as well as stealing several personal items and selling them for money.
McCright had been using some of the allegedly stolen money to support his company, Diamond Point Ventures Development. He was arrested on 64 counts of identity theft, 32 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, three counts of first-degree aggravated theft by deception, two counts of first-degree aggravated theft and one count each of first-degree criminal mistreatment, mail theft and first-degree theft by deception.
Hopefully, in addition to paying restitution to the victim and his family, McCright will be forced to undergo anti-theft classes and counseling. How can someone live with themselves if they knowingly rob another person blind?
