I can only imagine what it would be like to not be able to provide for your children. Would I resort to stealing? I hope I never have to answer that question.

I would hope that if I was forced to resort to such a low point, that I would not resist arrest once I was caught and make things much worse. Here is the story which tugged at my heart-strings. As reported in sacramento.cbslocal.com.

There are two sides to every story, but when you begin with a criminal act, like theft, your credibility goes way, way down.

A mother admits she tried to steal food from a grocery store in Sacramento and claims she was roughed up by store security guards.

In this case there are two very different sides to the story that landed not only the woman but her husband behind bars and their children in protective custody.

The thief and mother, 24-year-old Telesa Pearson, were also charged with arresting arrest.

Telesa Pearson admits she was wrong, but said she was stealing food to feed her young children.

But she says after being caught, she was attacked by security at the store while the security guards tried to take her 2-year-old and 3-month-old children.

When police arrived on the scene they say that Pearson was enraged. They cited her for misdemeanor theft and had her call her husband to pick up them up.

Her husband, Joshua Head, 27, went back in the store to confront the security guards and got socked in the face. Who to believe? Police had to use stun gun on him before arresting both parents and taking the kids.

What a sad story. I hope these two are mandated to a theft class and seeking counseling for anger issues.
