Anyone you allow into your home has the potential to be dangerous. One of these people is the cable guy. Jim Carrey played a great cable guy in the move “The Cable Guy,” but he was not committing major crimes.

An employee with Philadelphia-based Comcast Corporation claims he was only helping customers by offering them discount monthly cable rates in exchange for cash up front. As reported in onlineathens.com.

In his greedy scam, Comcast lost more than $2.4 million. That is a major felony my friend!

The mastermind of the scheme was Alston Buchanan, a former Comcast worker who was intimately familiar with the company's billing system.

The Big Mistake!

The case was cracked in a hair salon when - get this - a suspect in the rate-lowering ring unknowingly approach another Comcast employee getting her hair done, and offered to lower her bill if she forked over $100 to $200.

That just didn't sound right to the honorable Comcast worker, who went to the police. This was not just one disgruntled employee out scamming people. Buchanan recruited agents on the street to approach people, offering to lower their cable bills for an upfront payment of $150.

Buchanan insisted he did nothing wrong and/or illegal. I hope he is mandated to take a 4 hour theft class. Perhaps he will be able to realize that he was stealing from his company. There is no logical way he can justify his devious behavior.
