Drugs and crime go hand-in-hand. That is not to say every drug addict is a thief or every thief takes drugs, but there most certainly is a positive correlation between the two. In other words, if you steal, you are more likely to use drugs and vice versa.
A 39-year-old Hull woman arrested and charged with shoplifting at Wal-Mart also was charged with drug trafficking after authorities found a bag of crystal methamphetamine during a strip search. As reported in onlineathens.com.
The thief and drug trafficker, Tammy Rogers Massey, was hysterical. She begged for the opportunity to pay for the stolen items and promised to not return to the store.
Massey immediately handed back the sunglasses and other stolen items when confronted by store security, but they still detained her for the police and much greater trouble.
For police the telltale sign that there might be something more was a huge bulge in the back of her pants. When they tried to search her she went berserk. It wasn’t until she was totally restrained at the station and police we able to strip search her that the drugs were found.
The strip search found a balled-up sock that contained several plastic bags. One bag had a small amount of marijuana, but another held at least a tablespoon’s worth of crystal meth.
A glass smoking pipe was in Massey’s bra.
In addition to shoplifting she was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft by shoplifting.
I hope she gets to spend some time behind bars and uses it to rehabilitate herself with a Georgia shoplifting class and a Georgia drug class.
