We all have read stories about child abuse when a parent leaves a child in a locked car on a hot day. Sometimes the charges are more serious and the consequences more tragic. Why anyone would leave anyone locked in a hot car on a hot day is beyond me. My sympathies extend beyond our human friends and to our animals pals as well.

I was deeply saddened to hear a story out of Canada in July where a dog was left in a super-hot car and perished before its owner came out of the store. This as reported in www.castanet.net.

Making matters worse, and providing fodder for my blog on shoplifting, the dog’s owners was inside the store shoplifting as his canine pal died!

Police arrested two women (age 29 and 30) for shoplifting inside the Superstore.

Police found the vehicle with the windows up and an empty water dish. It appeared the dog suffered from the high temperature and the dog was already dead when police arrived.

A tragic situation made even more tragic by the actions of these two women. I hope they are mandated to a stop theft class as well as some counseling for animal abuse and cruelty.
