In a story out of “news of the weird,” comes the tale of a man who is in dire need of counseling, therapy, stop theft classes and oh, so much more.

The incident in question took place not at Wal-Mart, but Target. The gentleman and his best friend, a canine named Cujo, were out for an evening of shoplifting in Mesa, Arizona. He wound up tased and his dog dead!

How did things go so crazy? First, the shoplifter entered the Target store without a shirt. That alone would have alerted store personnel that something was amiss. Second, he brought his pit bull (unleashed) with him – a second major red flag. Third, they witnessed the “gentleman” loading the pockets with merchandise.

Of course nothing would go right on this crazy night. When police arrived, the thief, Samkeita Jahveh Jurden was seated in the middle of the aisle wearing only his swimming trunks and black socks.

When officers asked the 25-year-old Jurden to leave the store, a fight between them ensued. The dog bit one officer and Jurden bit the other.

Authorities say the officer who was being attacked by the dog fired a shot. The dog ran away and was later found dead. Jurden was tased and arrested.

Both officers' injuries were treated at an area hospital and released.

Jurden faces aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and assault; vicious animals charges.

Crazy story that I am sure there was drugs and alcohol involved as well. I hope Jurden is mandated to an 8 hour theft class and perhaps also an alcohol class and drug class.
