I am not sure if you have noticed, but the world is becoming a dangerous place. It is especially important to hold on to what you have. If you live in almost any city in the United States it is imperative you own your own transportation.

If you own a vehicle, even if it is insured, you certainly do nto want to have it stolen. Here are a few tips to keep your car from being stolen. As reported in www.carinsurance.org.

Lock it, Don’t Lose it

First and foremost is to use the security you have available. All cars have locks – use them! If your vehicle is equipped with an alarm – use it! If you have Club or Gorilla Grip – use it!! All of these will deter a thief. Of course the professionals, if they really want your car, have the means to steal it. But if you take precautions, they are more likely to move onto a “victim” that is easier to boost!

Invisibility Cloak This may sound like something you would buy in The Shire, but in reality it is to find a way to make your car look as boring as possible. First and foremost do not leave your wallet, cellphone or iPod on display. That is a sure-fire way to get a thief. When it’s parked in public, make sure it’s locked, emptied of valuables, and anything left in the car gets hidden from plain sight. If your car looks boring and empty, maybe it will be invisible to thieves.

Do yourself a favor and keep your car safe. Stop theft classes can only go so far to keep people from stealing.
