Most occupations have a stereotype. What do you think of when you think of a plastic surgeon. If it is the emergency room physician who just sutured up my cousin from a dog bite my impression is positive. If it's my ex-girlfriend’s new husband who performs breast augmentations on 70-year-old women it is something entirely different.

You can come to your own conclusion regarding Dr Ehab Mohamed. First, he is a thief. Mohamed was arrested this past week was trying to sell of leased equipment to a Los Angeles area spa. The item he did not own was worth in excess of $20,000.

I’ll give him credit for one thing - Mohamed pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of grand theft and attempted grand theft. It is refreshing to see a thief who is clearly guilty try to claim their innocence.

Thief and a Really Bad Doctor

Mohamed, an Egyptian national, is also accused of living in California illegally after his visa was revoked by immigration officials in 2006. Gibbons confirmed that he is currently on an immigration hold.

The Medical Board of California suspended Mohamed's license last year, alleging gross negligence in his treatment of at least three patients.

In one case, Mohamed's 61-year-old female patient died on the operating table after paying him $100,000 to correct her sagging breasts and remove fat from her face, neck, back, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees and other areas

The procedure should have been done in a surgical setting with heart and breathing monitoring, but Mohamed heavily dosed the woman with a cocktail of sedatives - including Xanax, Percoset and Valium - and performed the procedure without monitoring in his Encino office.

After more than 10 hours of surgery, the woman began having trouble breathing and was pronounced dead by paramedics who were called to help her. He had lied to her by claiming her surgery was part of a study being observed by the Harvard Medical School. He is in no way associated with Harvard University.

A liar, a thief and a murderer – you make the call. It begs to question why was this guy out roaming the streets of Southern California.
