Best known as the host for the television game show “Jeopardy,” Alex Trebek chased a thief out of his hotel room in San Francisco last week. The 71-year-old Trebek was robbed while sleeping in his room at the Marriot Marquis in San Francisco, California.

Brazen Robbery

The robber, identified as 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers, came right into Trebek’s hotel room around 3AM. The “Jeopardy” host woke up and tried to stop Moyers from stealing various items. Moyers was booked on felony burglary and possession of stolen property.

Some of the items Moyers allegedly stole were found near an ice machine, but the cash was not recovered.

Don’t Mess With Trebek!

Trebek didn’t wait for the police to arrive, he pursued Moyers on his own. In town to host the “national Geographic World Championship, Trebek chased the woman out of his hotel room and was badly injured in the chase. Trebek tore a tendon in his ankle which will require surgery.

How does someone get into a locked hotel room? This certainly is one of the more brazen attacks on a celebrity. They are a constant target for all types of thieves.

As a huge fan of “Jeopardy” I am glad to hear he is doing fine. A case like this brings to light how common theft is on our country. Please keep your hands to yourselves.
