In a storyline right out of Hollywood a man has robbed a casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the movie “Ocean’s 11” with Brad Pitt and George Clooney the casino was robbed by a team of thieves with automatic weapons. In real-life there was no gun involved and the thief got away.

But police know who stole the loot and are looking for Akingide Cole of Palmdale, California because, they say, he took $1.6 million in chips from the Venetian. As reported in blogs.laweekly.com.

That's quite a haul.

The 31-year-old from the L.A. area did it earlier this month by somehow sneaking into "a closed area of the casino" and fleeing with the goods -- high-denomination chips.

It happened about 6 a.m. and he is still at-large.

Cole was able to gain access into a closed area of the casino from which he removed the chips of various values. There were no weapons involved in this crime, and no confrontation occurred between the suspect and others during this incident.

Cole is described as a 6-foot-tall African American who weighs 225 pounds and has a faux-hawk type haircut, a goatee and "a large fibrous growth on his left earlobe."

What I want to know is how will he cash in those chips.

Maybe the suspect is trying to be a modern-day, Democratic Robin Hood. The Venetian is owned by Sheldon Adelson, a major critic of President Obama who has dedicated millions to Republican super-PAC efforts to unseat him.

I am certain he will be caught and when it happens I hope he is mandated to a good online theft class.
