Let it be said here and now that thieves are not always the sharpest tools in the shed. We all have read stories about people who steal and shoplift, often we shake our heads in disbelief at their stupidity. From women leaving their babies behind to someone getting caught because they clogged the toilet with packing material, thieves prove time and again they are not that smart.
Here is yet another story that adds to this theory. As reported in www.ocala.com.
A 24-year-old woman from Ocala, Florida whose wig and purse containing her identification were left behind at Walmart after deputies say she bit and punched two loss prevention officers, has been arrested at her residence and charged with retail petty theft, battery and resisting a merchant.
Breanna La'Tedra Salmon was arrested at her home. She had stolen five tablets were valued at $248.70, to obtain money to help her mother pay the light bill.
Store security officers noticed Salmon removing items from the shelves and placing them in her pink purse. She then went to the Garden Center and attempted to exit the building without paying for the items in her purse. Stopped by the loss prevention officers, Salmon bit one of the men on his hand and punched both men repeatedly in the face.
Unfortunately she did not get away clean – she left her purse behind. Salmon’s purse driver's license. They also found her wig and cellphone at the scene.
Hopefully, Salmon will be mandated to an extended 24 hour theft class and work hard at restoring her morals and credibility so that she can become a productive member of society.
